I’ve personally experienced the effects of job-related stress on the body, working in high-pressure offices from legal firms to hospitals. I also have experience as a former ballet dancer who pushed herself to injury. I know the consequences of ignoring or trivializing physical limits.
I first encountered the Alexander Technique as in injured performer. In a matter of months a decades old injury resolved itself almost completely. I went from being unable to do most types of exercise, to running a 10k joyously. I decided I had to help other people recover and learn about their unconscious habits.
Through a rigorous, three-year training program in London, I certified in the Alexander Technique, and taught in the UK and California before making my home in Seattle.
